ADAM HUFFMAN | Executive Director

Adam Huffman has been immersed in the Canadian Basketball scene for the past 15 years. After playing CIS Basketball with the University of Regina Cougars and convocating with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration, he launched Doggpound Basketball Training Academy. Since the start of Doggpound in 2007, he has trained hundreds of athletes across Western Canada, helping many achieve placement in post-secondary institutions in Canada and the USA. Most notably, Adam was invited to coach at the Tom Izzo Basketball Camp in Michigan State in 2016 as well as with Canada Basketball to work with players in the All Canadian Game.  Adam has worked with Basketball Saskatchewan for the past four years as head coach of U15 & U17 boys teams leading his U15 team to a bronze medal finish at Nationals.  He is currently the Head Basketball Coach for Edge School for Athletes in Calgary and Vice-President of the Canadian National Preparatory Association (NPA).  Adam is committed to helping players of all skill level realize their potential. He is currently completing his Level III coaching certification and is First Aid Certified.

Born out of a passion for basketball and coaching, Doggpound Hoops strives to set the bar for practical, performance-enhancing instruction and skill development.  Doggpound believes in the 'hard-nosed' approach to the game which has consistently produced outstanding players at all levels of play.

Doggpound player is a team and community contributor, on and off the court.

At Doggpound, WE NEVER:  call fouls, play out of bounds, make excuses.

At Doggpound, WE ALWAYS:  talk on defence, knock down 3's, give high 5's, give back, block shots, handle the rock, take charge, win the same way we lose.

"When we are looking to recruit in Saskatchewan, the first coach we contact is Adam Huffman from Doggpound Hoops. He has his finger on the basketball scene in Saskatchewan. Doggpound Hoops gets players ready to play at the next level. Adam does a great job teaching the fundamentals of how to play the game while developing high character athletes. All his players are prepared to play at the next level in some way, whether it be mentally or physically."

-Mike Connolly, Head Mens Basketball Coach of NAIT Ooks, 2016 National Champions.

Adam Huffman really cares about the athletes he works with. He's passionate about seeing improvement in the lives of student-athletes and is making a major impact on basketball in western Canada.

-Tariq Sbiet, National Scout NPH

"The coaching strengths at Doggpound and their ability to connect with the kids is top quality. They love their job and the athletes they train. The quality of athletes coming from Doggpound continues to grow each year. This is the best basketball program Saskatchewan has ever seen.
